Off to the lake

In an attempt to stay cool and have a little fun we took ourselves off to Quassy Amusement Park  It is on a local lake and we hung out at the beach and the water park there.  It was really a lot of fun.  Ellie splashed in the lake and took the water slides like a pro.  Sadie and I had some chill time under the umbrella and Ken did it all.

This week we met our friends Jo, Cloe and Zach at the Beardsley Zoo.  Not a major zoo but just the right size for a 4 year old.  They have bears, tigers, an aligator and a carosel.  Perfect for a day out.

37 years and counting

Yup I am 37.  In my head I still feel like I am in my 20’s even if many days lately my body feels like it is easily in it’s fifties.

I celebrated by having yummy pasteries in bed, buying a groovey pair of new shoes, having lunch with Ken and Sadie and finishing up with ice cream perfection.  Who would have thought that hot liquid peanut butter could evelate home made icecream to a whole new level.

By the way my 37th was also Sadie’s 16th week birthday.  What a big girl she is becoming.  All smiles and fun.

Mj and the boys

Adding to our summer of fun we had a visit from MJ, Dylan, and Connor.  It was great.  Ken went to SC to visit Lee and Mj came and hung out with me.  There was beach time, boat rides, carousel rides, music on the green and loads of cuddles and fun.

The kids all had a great time playing together and Sadie got to enjoy Auntie MJ cuddles.  I got some quality time with MJ as well.  A few beers and a couple of glasses of wine and loads of excellent conversation.  I hadn’t truly realized how much I missed having that.  They were only here a few days but that is all it took for me to realize how much I miss being around them.  Oh if only we lived closer…

There was beach time, boat rides, carousel rides, music on the green and just fun time.

Herman’s Hermits

Who would have thought that after just one free concert in the park we would have a four year old that is hooked on Herman’s Hermits.

It’s all “I’m Henry the 8th I am” and “Something tells me I’m into something good.”

July started with a bang.  We didn’t do much for the 4th but we did get vistors right after.  Ken’s Dad and Judy came for a few days.  It was so much fun.  They got to meet Sadie and have some quality time with Ellie as well.

There was boat riding, seafood eating, laughs and great time spent visiting.  It was so nice having family around even if it was only for a few days.

Ellie’s Fourth

Hard to believe that our little girl is actually four.  Four years ago I was was nervous, worried and excited all wrapped up into one.  I didn’t know what to expect or what the future would hold.

I still don’t but now I cannot wait to see what is next.  Everyday she becomes more of her own person – a little too much we are hearing “I wanted to do it myself” I bit too much lately.

We started the day with a treasure hunt for her presents and after school we had our own celebration complete with pizza and homemade cupcakes each with their own candy butterfly.  It was such a great way to celebrate the day of our Ellie Beth’s birth.
