Good bye fair Brussels…

It was a great send off to a wonderful city.

Camping

Let’s face it, camping isn’t for everyone but we are hoping it’s for our girls.  In that vain we decided to do a weekend camping trip to see how it went.  We chose a camp ground only about a hour away so if things got ugly we wouldn’t be too far away.

We went to Odeah Camping Resort ( http://www.odetah.com/).  It was full service.  Tent camping sites with water and electric, a swimming pool and hot tub, a beach on a lake and loads of activities.  Ken and Ellie fished, Ken climbed a pyramid in the lake, and we tried yellow water melon for the first time.

On the way home we stopped by an alpaca farm  (http://www.sixpaca.com/) so the girls could pet and feed a few. I think they enjoyed almost as much as I did.

It was so much fun.  The girls loved it and I have to admit I enjoyed it as well.  I’m thinking we might just have to try it again next summer.

I blinked…

and Aug. was gone in a flash but in case you were wondering here are some snap shots of what we did.

Ken and I had a “staycation”.  I flew the girls down to my parents in Virginia for a weekend and we stayed home.  We checked out a few local restaurants we had been wanting to try and even went to a movie while Mom and Dad spoiled the girls and enjoyed some time with them.

After collecting the girls we headed to the coast for some time with friends and Ken’s 20 year (what?) high school reunion.  It was awesome to reconnect with old friends!

Hanging out!

Lots of cuddles

The look that Lily gave my crazy girls the whole time they were there.

Reunion and Kayoke

I celebrated a friends Birthday in Edinburg and had fun at the Fringe festival.

Cheers

Ellie had a week alone at Mom and Dad’s and the week finished with Mom’s work picnic.  Mardi Gras theme.

We had a lemonade stand,

some park time,

and finally some beach time before the Summer ended.

Busy but fun August for the Pankos.
