This little girl has more spunk in her little finger than most people have in their whole body. And she has parents who have always made her believe she can do anything. And she will. She is smart, beautiful, talented, and motivated. She WILL run swiftly and she WILL win the race. It isn't just a race for her. It is a victory dance. Dance on, precious girl! Ken & Colie, you are doing a GREAT job with your little girls. You're amazing parents of two amazing little girls. I look at this little girl and marvel at what she CAN do! I count my blessings every day, and our little EB is right there among them. She is a joy and an inspiration. Just keep telling her how much she is loved and how precious she is to countless people! How hard it must be for Ellie Beth's MOMMY that this day has come! As moms, all we ever want to do is hold our babies close, prevent every hurt, and love them through whatever is challenging for them. What hurts them is also painful to us. I wish I had words of wisdom to help you through this. My advice is to listen more than you talk, let her feel heard and understood, tell her how precious she is to everyone and how so many people all over the world have loved her through everything she has been through and will love her through whatever lies ahead, and (like everything else a Mom faces every day), just let your heart do the talking. Sometimes a cuddle can say more than mere words ever can. Ellie Beth is perfect, just the way God made her. Her life has been and will always be a fundamental factor in the faith walks of everyone who knows her, especially her Auntie Alice. I believe God made our beautiful little girl for a special purpose and she continues to amaze me every day with her beauty, wisdom, courage, and spirit. There is a lifetime of wisdom in those beautiful, brown, four year old eyes. She already knows more about life than most of us learn in a half century or so.
