starting the season

shoulders1.JPGSince it was 62 degrees last night and it is our first Christmas in New England, we decided to walk downtown and see the lighting of the Christmas tree on the town green. The tree was huge, Santa came riding in on a fire truck, and they had a carousel that we had to pry Ellie off.

I may have gone a little overboard with bundling Ellie up (think Maggie Simpson and call me a little parnoid right now), it was so warm we didn’t even need heavy coats or scarfs. It did feel weird being in Connecticut- the fact that we are now Connecticutters still hasn’t fully sunk in yet maybe after the first snow – and it being so warm when the tree was lit.

Our upstairs neighbor, Robin, came with us and treated us to some really yummy chili for dinner when we got back that had been cooking in her crock pot all day.

Not a bad way to start the season!!carousel1.JPGmaggiesimpson1.JPG

A sweater is something that is placed on a child when Mom feels cold. :) What a blessed Christmas! The Salvation of the world rested on something as fragile as a tiny infant heartbeat. In the Christmas of 2006, that concept has a whole new meaning for all of us.

    Blessings,

Ellie looks so adorable in all of your posts. What a cutie-pie!!!! I had Henry all bundled up when we went to choose our Christmas tree this past weekend- even though it was upper 50s. He looked like he was ready for a winter stroll in Helsinki, but what can you do? It was one of those mom things I said I wouldn’t do. He had a spot of something on his cheek the other day, and there I went licking my fingers to rub it off his face. Another mom thing I said I wouldn’t do. Those are what we call ‘famous last words’ …
