Weekend Break

Mom and Dad agreed to keep Ellie for the weekend so Ken and I could have our first weekend away since she was born. That’s 20 months ladies and gentlemen.

We decided to go down to Asheville, NC. Ken got a day of skiing. I got to try it out for the first time to see if I liked it before committing to a whole ski trip. And, I got to go to the Biltmore. I am now officially in the Biltmore Club with my friends who have been there a couple of times and raved.

We had a wonderful weekend and Mom and Dad were still standing when we made it back to Roanoke yesterday. So, all in all, a successful weekend break.

Ken snapped a picture of me on the rare occassion when I was actually on my feet.

I tried to stay brave even though I had bruises on my bruises.

We are so completely bummed that we didn’t get to Roanoke to see Miss EB before she left for home! Just thought we shouldn’t expose her to the germs that were culturing in our house . . . so we just stayed home and kept our colds with us. Looking forward to seeing her (and you) in May for Auntie M’s shower.

Don’t worry too much about Grandma and Grandad–they were over the moon–Sandra practically bubbled every time I talked to her. :) Your problem will be getting her back to normal after the thorough job of spoiling her that her grandparents gave her!

I hear that little one is just growing by leaps and bounds, learning to walk, and babbling with a few discernable words in there! Now, just keep saying to her, “I love my Auntie Alice, I love my Auntie Alice . . . :)

you look so cute in your snowbunny outfit! fun! our little henry hasn’t spent the night away yet, even with both sets of grandparents local… the time is near, though. very, very near.

Colleen/Ken: What a pleasant time away, we recently did the Biltmore Estates tour ourselves and it was something to enjoy. Glad you all had a few days away. I am sure Jim and Sandra had the most fun on that weekend. I am also glad to see Ellie doing so well. Let us konw when you are visiting Roanoke. We would love to come up and visit with you. By the way, you should see Missey and Cherie’s kids come down the skii slopes. Chase is 9, but is already skiing the black diamond slopes. It amazes me. With the exception of our Ellie, the others are already off the bunny slopes.
