Cincinnati Kid

Last Friday, after being bumped off a flight to Cincinnati, we jumped in the car and started the 13 hour drive instead. We figured it wasn’t worth waiting to be bumped again and we knew we would get there
in the car.

Ellie wasn’t exactly thrilled with the ride but we had the DVD player and Nemo got her through.

Cinci was great. Sat. night there was a going way party for Jeff (Ken’s cousin) and we got to see loads of family. Ellie had a great time in their pool and on the up and down a.k.a. trampoline. Anna did the jumping and Ellie and Michaela did the bouncing. I think they all had a great time.

Sunday, Ken and I went to the baseball game – Ellie hung out with Grandma and had a great time – and saw Ken Griffey Jr. make his carrier 585 home run. It was a great day for a game sunny and not too hot.

Monday, we went to the famous Montgomery Inn for lunch and then hit the also famous Cincinnati Zoo. It was so cool. My favorites where the rhinos but Ellie and Ken liked the gorillas, one of which had a baby.

It was a really wonderful day, well until I had the run in with the croc.
On the way home we stopped at Scott and Julie’s and had a great time just hanging out with them and Laney and Jake for the night.

We finally rolled into the driveway at about 4:30 last night. Tired, happy from the great weekend and to be home and excited because Lee is visiting for the weekend. No fireworks last night because of the bad rainstorms but hopefully another fun weekend to come.
