Glue

Friday I decided to get creative and finish the beach bag I had been working on for weeks. I broke out my brand new sewing scissors and proceeded to slice through the fabric and my finger all at the same time. After a hour and it was still bleeding I decided to go have it looked at. Three hours and an emergency room visit later, I was glued up and told not to get it wet or bump it until the glue had peeled off. My first thought was what about work on Monday. I spend 90% of my time at work with my hands in and around liquid. I think work isn’t going to happen tomorrow. It is still very tender and I am scared it might bust open on the plane. I’m not posting picts. Won’t do that to you guys.

Things did get better over the weekend. Lee has been visiting and we grilled out Friday night. They had big fat steaks on the grill. Yesterday Ellie and I just chilled in the morning while the boys went and did boy stuff (go-karts, batting cages and driving range) and then we all went to the beach in the afternoon. All that was followed by a yummy dinner at The Place – an outdoor restaurant that lets you bring your own beer and sides and makes amazing fresh grilled lobster on a giant wood-fired bbq. Ken had to do the peeling for me and Ellie but it was so super yummy.

Lee left this morning to do the long drive home and we are planning on having a low key relaxing day today. It is actually supposed to get up into the 90s today.

So all in all a weekend of glue, on my finger and bonding with Ellie, Ken and Lee.
